My Mother's Touch

My mother has been the driving force in my life. I wrote the following poem to describe how my mother's struggle has influenced me greatly.

She knits in several shades,
each stitch as if her last,
Her hands are calculative;
fingers in an elegant dance.

Her ideals gleam in bright patches,
a few scraps spoiled with regret,
a life time of knitting my quilt,
the one in which I must rest.

Some soft and some rough,
out of reach as they may seem,
these pieces I touch and understand,
Her hope I must redeem.

  1. You should share with your mother. Parents often don't realize when we appreciate their efforts.
